Pictures of my site on week 1
Pictures of week 3
Conclusion
The tree and the plant in my site generally grew over the six weeks. The general grasses that I looked at overtime dried out and the flowers as well due to too much heat.
I have learned from my tree that it grows very slowly. I believe that it has grown at least some inches but it is hard to tell. The abiotic factors that have affected my tree include the temperature and lack of rain for the most part. That has made it harder for all the plants in my area to grow. There are not a lot biotic factors that affected the tree, however insects both, flying and grounded, have been seen in my tree. Spider webs were also partially in the tree. This tree is dominant in the area because it is drought resistant.
I have learned from my small plant that it grows moderately quickly and that it grew because of it's placement in my site. The plant has simply developed slightly bigger overtime. The heat and rain have affected the tree as far as abiotic factors. Spiders and bugs have also climbed onto this plant and used it, but this plant has also acquired shade from the tree for biotic factors. The shade has helped this plant survive. With that and its drought resistant qualities, it has been a dominant plant in my site.
I have learned that the grasses and flowers in my site have a harder time surviving in my site. Over the 6 weeks the grasses have dried out and some flowers have died out for the most part in my site. The hot temperatures and intense sun have devastated the purple flowers in my site. They were once blooming and they are no longer abundant. The yellow flowers have stayed on top and managed the heat and drought pretty well however. The weather conditions have also been the downfall for the grasses and weeds in my site. I don't believe that any deer have come on my site and possibly eaten some of the plants, nor is there evidence that bugs got them.
I have learned from this project that the world is very intricate. It appears to be just one thing at first, but when you really get in there, like for this project, there is so much more. I learned a lot of things over time about my site that I would just pass by if I had not done this project. It was nice seeing the world in a new way.
